Peter is a wildlife sculptor who specializes in birds and marine mammals. He completed a BS in biology from Kansas State University and a masters degree in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut. He has worked as an artist for twenty five years. Recently he returned to the classroom and teaches chemistry at Shelton High School in Shelton Connecticut. Peter's scientific background coupled with his artistic sensibility gives his sculpture precision and a particular intimacy. Peter works in three distinct styles: representational bird carvings ; traditional decoys; and stylized realism. His media are wood, bronze castings, and stone. He is an artist member of the American Society of Marine Artists.

His work has been exhibited in many galleries and shows including the Mystic Maritime Gallery and Greenwich Workshop. Recently he has had one man shows at the Westport Nature Center in Westport Connecticut and at the Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center in Milford Connecticut. Some of his most recent exhibits include Aubrey's World at the Seamen's Church Institute in New York City and the J. Russell Jinishian Gallery in Fairfield Connecticut. In a new challenge Peter redesigned the Corporate logo for Boy's Village in Milford Connecticut and transformed it into a five foot bronze statue depicting a man with arms outstretched helping a little girl and boy. The work was dedicated in October of 1999. Peter's works are represented in numerous private collections and in the course of his career his birds have migrated to almost every state in the U.S. and to approximately twenty different countries.
