The elegance and balance of AMERICA’s design is evident in this fine portrait of her moving through a moderate sea under full sail - from her shapely bow and raked masts, to her distinctive round cockpit, and The New York Yacht Club bungee aloft, she epitomizes yachting perfection.
In 1994, Wagner moved to England and was invited by the Royal Exchange Art Gallery in London to exhibit in three one-man shows. The Royal Engineers commissioned his last major work, which was officially presented to their Patron H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh in May 1996. His work has been on permanent display at the Smith Gallery in New York City, and Longfleet House of Barnstable, Massachusetts has published an edition of his prints in a series called "The Classic Twelves."
