The Toy Boat Series

set of four acrylic/mixed medium paintings, 11"x 14" each

SOLD

After seeing a toy boat at an antique auction in Maine, Ed Parker got caught up in the bidding and ended up taking it home. Ed was always taken with old vintage tin toys, each having a certain honesty about them that invites creative possibilities. Given his inclination for all things nautical, he used these toy boats as the subject for these four paintings. The toy boat series of paintings is based on stamped lithographed tin toys. Most of the toy boats from1880 to the early 1900's were made either in Germany or France.
